Brief.
How might we reduce organic waste in our landfills?

Making the best out of our ingredients is both an economical and environmental need. Organic wastes, if not composted, end up fermenting in landfills releasing an extra and undesirable amount of CO2. Could we change our mindset away from what we consider “scraps” ? Peels, leaves, oils, etc. are nutritive parts of fruits and vegetables and should be considered as nobel as their hearts. 

Surplus is a series of recipe from the scraps of our fruits and veggies! Designed as a folded poster, the recipes would be integrated to a delivery food basket (such as Eat Grim, promoting the use of the not-so-pretty ingredients) and educate the basket receivers on the various use for what they would normally throw away.

This project was also used as activity facilitation by the anti-food waste group “Food:Re:Formers”
