BODEGA 4LIFE

2021                       Duration. 2 months

My role.
Art Director, Photographer, Strategy & Concept.

Bodega4Life is a fashion initiative aiming to be a social community.

(*) There are over five hundred bodegas across Denmark. Invisible amongst the landscape, they play, in a neighborhood’s ecosystem, a great role of communion and cultural witness. These viking taverns are places filled with charm, pain, joy and realness. In a culturally cold and somewhat distant country, they reveal people’s rawness, devoid of filters. Bodegas create social ties and maintain a neighborhood relationship. It feels like home, and it doesn’t show off. These are the aspects we want to celebrate with our project. With the current pandemic, people have tended to isolate and stay home. Individualism is peaking as bodegas’ visit rate decreases. City dwellers are not familiar with their direct neighborhood lives and this is the circularity we aim at reactivating.

How?
Stories, atmosphere, warmth, humanity, emotions. we extract resources from these places to advocate their existence. Starting with a fashion collection made out of upcycled blankets from bodegas, we plan on developing the project on social media with an interactive map of Copenhagen bodegas, as well as a podcast series to show various perspectives to provide insights on the role of bodegas amongst Danish society.

This project was made in collaboration with Chloé Douy (Paris based Fashion Designer), and Ninon Lêvan (Troyes based Fashion Designer).
